https://ayoungyoo.com/About ABOUT Ayoung Yoo (b. 1987) is a multidisciplinary artist working in painting and textile-based practices in Seoul and New York. She explores the journey of life, using breath as a metaphor for existence and the passage of time. Her work traces generational ties through women and the relationships formed in daily life, reflecting on the delicate boundary between life and death. Yoo works with organza silk, pigment, hand stitching, and crochet to create pieces that range from body-inspired and garment-like forms to intimate hanging works. Through shifts in scale and material, she examines the cyclical rhythms of living. Her exhibitions include Bonesetter at 86 Bowery, New York, NY; Stochastic Drift at Studio in Factory, Long Island City, NY; and Fragments in Our Home at L’appartement 49c, New York, NY. Yoo holds an MFA from Pratt Institute and a BFA from Duksung Women’s University.
